In 2012, on 14-16 September, the first time in AIESEC Azerbaijan, Local Motivation Seminar took place in Nabran. Local Motivation Seminar is a conference before recruitment in order to motivate members for new season in AIESEC. During 3 days conference, delegates had trainings about “New Projects in AIESEC”, “AIESEC Plans”, “Motivation” and so on. In addition, for the first time in AIESEC Azerbaijan, AIESEC Olympics took place during Local Motivation Seminar. AIESEC Olympics combine many games, which provide members with a lot of motivation at the same time with fun. The number of participants reached 36. The delegates were trained by one foreigner trainer and two chairmen.

LOCAL MOTIVATIONAL SEMINAR

Nix - Chair of LMS
From Sept 14 to 16th, I was responsible for Chairing the Local Motivational Seminar for AIESEC in Azerbaijan. Having never attended an International AIESEC conference, let alone chairing one, I was pleasantly surprised at how successful and enjoyable this experience was. That being said I did have over 3 years’ experience in AIESEC New Zealand at a national level as such I was able to inject a large amount of AIESEC New Zealand conference culture alongside the standing AIESEC Azerbaijan spirit. The spirit and enthusiasm displayed by the delegates and members of AIESEC Azerbaijan was quite
simply extraordinary and it was inspiring to see how much passion each of these members held for the continued growth of AIESEC Azerbaijan. Though initially I was wary on ensuring I abided by any cultural taboos, I soon found AIESEC Azerbaijan to be both open and accepting to any cultural differences and willing to try things a little more international.
Overall, I found this experience enlightening on how an entity with only 4 years of history can produce members of such a high quality and deliver such an amazing conference. I would especially like to thank the organizing committee who far outstripped in their efficiency all of the previous 20 or so OC teams I had worked with in the past as well as the Facilitators who worked through several very hard days and nights to deliver some high quality and well-presented trainings and sessions. I hope in the future to have another chance to attend a conference run by AIESEC Azerbaijan.
